Lightning Pollarded Spanish Sweet Chestnut

Face away from the QR post no 24 and you will see a Spanish Sweet Chestnut tree, the upper branches of which appear to be younger and of a silver grey colour.   The crown of this tree was destroyed by lightning and the tree regenerated itself at canopy level.
