Path Erosion
Prior to the new paths being laid, the old paths were becoming very muddy in wet weather.  Consequently  to avoid walking in the mud, walkers tended to skirt around the muddy patches, gradually widening and destroying the wild flowers, as can be seen in the above photographs.  The new paths encourage walkers to stick to the paths and we hope that the bluebells and other wild flowers will return to this area and florish.   Please encourage to stick to the paths to preserve the woods for future generations, spread the word and encourage other walkers to do the same.
