Log sales resume in September

Our log sales will resume every Saturday from Saturday 13th September, between 2pm and 3pm. We sell seasoned firewood by the barrow-load, at £15 per barrow. We also have handmade kindling at £15 for a large bag.

You can find us at our Compound – drive up past the Scout Hut off Heath Row and we will help you load up your car. Click here to see a map.

All the money raised goes towards maintaining the woodland and carrying out further conservation projects, in line with our charitable aims and objectives.

LOG SALES: Closed until Autumn 2025

We have SOLD OUT of seasoned logs for this winter – we will not be selling again until Autumn 2025.

Thank you to everyone that has bought firewood from us this winter, all the money we raise goes straight back into the care and protection of this beautiful woodland.

New log sale times from November

LOG SALES SUSPENDED

Stock up on logs for winter

Log sales resume at Birchanger Wood on Saturday 2nd September 2023 – please note that we are open in the afternoons only, 1pm-3pm, as we will be busy working in the wood in the mornings.

The price is £13 per barrow [Price for Winter 2023], cash only please. We will bring the barrow(s) to your car, and help you to load them into the boot if you would like.

The logs have been seasoning (drying) and are now ready to burn!

You can park at our compound – follow the track to the right hand side of the Scout Hut / water tower off Heath Row, through the gate and park up near our compound entrance. You can see a map showing where to find this entrance by clicking here.

A reminder that our wood is certified ‘Ready to Burn’ – this means that is has dried out enough to burn efficiently, which is better for the environment and better for your chimney! You can find out more about what this means at the Ready to Burn organisation’s website by clicking here.

All proceeds from the sale of logs go straight back into the conservation of this special wood, making sure that it is here for future generations to enjoy.

Log sales suspended until further notice

Update as of 1st January 2023: we have now sold out of seasoned firewood! Our log sales are now suspended until further notice. We hope to start selling again in autumn / winter 2023, once our newer stores have fully seasoned.

Our thanks to all of our customers this year. Log sales are a really important part of our fundraising and all the money raised goes into supporting the conservation and restoration of this beautiful woodland.

Log sales: December 24th and 31st 2022

We will be open from 8.30am-9.30am on Saturday 24th December and Saturday 31st December, with no afternoon sales.

Due to high demand, our stock of seasoned, dry firewood is very low – the picture above was taken in the summer and that bay is now completely empty.

We are still only charging £13 per wheelbarrow full [prices valid for Winter 2022], available from our compound next to the water tower on Heath Row in Bishop’s Stortford. Click here to see a map of how to find us. Cash only. We are happy to help you get the logs into your car.
