How to get here
From Parsonage Lane, Bishop’s Stortford, (which links Stansted Road with the top of Dunmow Road), follow Heath Row round to park near the Water Tower, which will be clearly visible. The public footpath almost opposite No.122 takes you a short distance to enter the wood just by the Water Tower. Alternatively, feed post code CM23 5DG into your satnav. A guided walk around the Wood, starting from the Water Tower, can be downloaded from the website. Part of Birchanger Wood lies north of the A120, but the tour does not involve crossing the bypass.
